Dangerous Women: Spellbound

Snowy Owl Theater @ Icicle Creek Center for the Arts - 7409 Icicle Road Leavenworth, WA 98826

Dangerous Women return to Snowy Owl Theater to present “Spellbound.”   This year’s production celebrates mystical women from history who dared to embrace their power and vision.

Using diverse forms of performance and mixed media, individual cast members will honor historical women including the ancient Irish Goddess Morrigan, Joan of Arc and Hildegard von Bingen.   “Memory,”  a fluid, larger-than-life puppet, will summon each act to the stage.   Following the performance,  the cast will engage in a talk-back with the audience. Local and regional performers include Mandi Wickline, Susan Gubsch,  Kara Woods Hunnicutt,  Susan Butruille, Rhona Baron, Momi Palmieri, Nadege Margaria, Martha Flores, Gracie Camp, Harriet Bullitt, Arlene Wagner,  Holly Blue, Cindy Rietveldt,  Emily Bebber, Christina Davitt,  Amy Carlson and Nicole Warren.

Following the acclaimed 2016 "In Celebration of Dangerous Women," the upcoming show is directed and produced by Rhona Baron, Susan Butruille, and Henry Hettick, Theater Director for Icicle Creek Center for the Arts.  Susan Butruille and Mandi Wickline founded Leavenworth’s women's history showcases in 2014, inspired by the famous maxim from Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, “Well-behaved women seldom make history."
