“Wildfires and Us” — a timely exhibit that runs through November 21, 2015. The exhibit uses 3-dimensional objects and large photographs, mostly by noted Wenatchee photographer/wildlife biologist John Marshall, to illustrate the role of wildfire in eastern Cascades ecosystems. The exhibit explains the essence of fire; how plants and animals have adapted to fire; changes man has made to the landscape through settlement and fire suppression; how forests have become more vulnerable; and how we can manage landscapes to make them more resilient.
Our Main Gallery has been transformed for this exhibit; it’s wildly colorful, and you’ll feel as if you’re walking along a forest trail. Guided tours of “Wildfires and Us” may be arranged by calling the Wenatchee Valley Museum at (509) 888-6240
