You've probably heard that Washington produces an abundance of apples that are exported and enjoyed around the world. But did you know that our state is divided into five main apple-growing regions, each with their own unique characteristics? All regions provide ideal conditions for growing the world's best apples, and two of them, Wenatchee Valley and Lake Chelan, are contained in Cascade Farmlands!
Any time you visit, be on the lookout for orchards hugging the Columbia or tucked between the hills. Come April, the first delicate, pink blossoms will appear. Our superb apples grow alongside outstanding  cherries , apricots, peaches,  pears nectarines and more.
Fun Fact: In the early 1900's, the "Wenatchee Commercial Club"  referred  to Wenachee as the "Gateway to the Land of Perfect Apples". Their 1910 brochure cited deep and well-drained volcanic soils, abundant water sources, plentiful sunshine, protection from high winds, and crisp nighttime temperatures during fall harvest. It's still true today.

Many people who enjoy what's  grown  locally, love the land that makes it possible.  Winter in Cascade Farmlands offers many opportunities for recreation:
