Theater Masterclass: Physical Theater
Icicle Creek Center for the Arts - 7409 Icicle Road, Leavenworth, WA, 98826
In this four hour workshop we will explore physical theater techniques, primarily focusing on the work of theater practitioners Rudolf Laban and Jacques LeCoq. We will work with masks, states of tension and effort actions, exploring physical ways of expressing character and self. We will also look at ways of using these techniques as a means of refreshing familiar text. Participants need to come ready to move. The goal by the end of the workshop is for actors, directors or even non-theater folks to gain tools to help present fully engaged characters to an audience.
