7pm Opening Night Feature: Heidi
Snowy Owl Theater
The classic story of a young girl who lives in the Swiss Alps with her goat herding Grandfather gets a fresh look. Released in 2015, HEIDI tells the story of a young girl who spent the happiest days of her childhood with her reclusive grandfather in a simple wooden hut in the Swiss mountains.

WORKSHOPS

10am - 12pm: Stop Motion for Creative Young Minds
Canyon Wren Recital Hall
Bring your imagination to life one frame at a time. Learn first-hand how movies like today’s feature, KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS, are made. Led by puppeteer and performer Mark Wavra, this workshop is suitable for ages 10 and up.

10am - 12pm: Family Filmmaking with Jonah Kozlowski
Snowy Owl Theater Stage
Storytelling doesn’t require special equipment. Learn how to make fun films on iPods and iPads (provided) with an ark load of stuffed toy animals ready to star in your production. Join Jonah Kozlowski, education director from Seattle’s Northwest Film Forum. This workshop is suitable for ages 8 and up with an adult.

ACTIVITIES

12pm - 4pm: Family, Food and Fun
Bouncy houses, bubbles, face painting, sno-cones, ice cream and more. Come play before the shows begin.

4pm Feature Film: Kubo and the Two Strings
Snowy Owl Theater
An epic action-adventure set in a fantastical Japan from acclaimed animation studio LAIKA. A young boy named Kubo must locate a magical suit of armor worn by his late father in order to defeat a vengeful spirit from the past.

El Jeremías is a 2015 Mexican comedy film, directed by Anwar Safa. The film stars Martín Castro as Jeremías, a bright child, who after learning he's a genius, struggles to succeed despite his family's poverty and ignorance.
