6th Annual Entiat Rites of String Kite Festival

Entiat Kite Festival, an annual free family event, was begun in the spring of 2011.
The festival encourages children and adults alike to “go fly a kite” each year on a Saturday in March from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the wide-open playfield of Kiwanis Park.

Free kites have been provided each year for kids to assemble, decorate, and fly, with prizes given to the best homemade kites. Vendors also sell kites at the site, as well as food and drink.

In 2014, a poster contest was begun for grades 4-6, with the winner receiving a free kite. Also in 2014, a “Kite Run”, race was also initiated for children of different age levels, with prizes given to the winners.

The Entiat Kite Festival has been sponsored every year by the Entiat Valley Chamber of Commerce.
