It's beautiful country in North Central WA, but did you realize the soils are some of the richest in the world for growing a bountiful variety of apples, peaches, cherries, plums and pears? In fact, Leavenworth's area exports one of the largest organic pear harvests in the world!

April celebrates the world-class quality and variety of pears grown around the upper valley in orchards just outside of Leavenworth.  Stroll town to sample dishes and drinks inspired by pears.

Leavenworth is focusing on culinary exploration this month featuring a pear-map that guides visitors to restaurants, wineries, stores and B&B's that offer foods and gifts that highlight this luscious fruit. Various activities and tastes all month plus Leavenworth's signature "Taste Leavenworth" event, April 11-12, welcomes foodies to explore  town with a passport of coupons.
